Open Question: Does Denver, CO really earn its nickname "Menver" ?

Is Denver, CO really the "dude fest" that everyone makes it out to be? I am / was considering attending CU-Denver, but may be reconsidering due to the aforementioned question. I am 27 years old, currently live with a sibling in Colorado Springs, and do not want to waste anymore of my life where there is no opportunity for dating. I spent five years (minus one year on a deployment) in the Marines, was stationed in eastern N.C. at Marine Corps Air Station (near Camp Lejeune) where Marines are extremely unwelcome (esp Wilmington and Greenville, N.C.), and absolutely do not want to live in another town that is nothing but a "dude fest" to put it politely. Worst case scenario, I could move back home to Nashville, TN, but I really don't want to do that unless I just have to. So, with that being said, are there really a helluva lot more guys in Denver than gals or is it all just a bunch of misconceptions? Any proper clarification would be most appreciated. Thanks....
